Cookie policy
Maps are the only reason we ask
Our website sets no tracking cookies. Google’s maps can, so they stay off until you allow them.
In short
- No analytics, no advertising, no tracking.
- Our maps come from Google, which sets cookies once a map loads, so the maps stay off until you allow them.
- Once you choose, we remember it on your device for six months, then ask again.
- You can change your mind at any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page.
What cookies are
Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser so it can remember something about you. Some are needed for a site to work. Others are used to follow you from one site to the next. Similar technologies, such as your browser’s local storage, work in much the same way, and the law treats them the same.
What our website stores
Our website sets no cookies. The one thing it stores is your answer about maps, so that we don’t ask again on every page. It is kept in your browser’s local storage under the name rs-consent, and holds only whether you allowed maps and when you chose. It lasts six months, and then we ask again. It stays on your device and is never sent to us or to anyone else.
We have no analytics, no advertising and no social media widgets. The links to our Facebook, Instagram and X pages are plain links: nothing from those companies loads on our pages unless you click through to them.
| Who | What | When | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| R-Space | rs-consent: whether you allowed maps, and when | When you answer the maps question | Six months |
| Its own cookies and similar technologies, listed in Google’s cookie policy | Only after you allow maps | Set by Google |
Maps
Our Home and Appointments pages show where our practice is, using a map from Google. The maps stay off until you allow them, either in the message that appears on your first visit or with the “Turn on maps” button where each map would be. Until then, nothing is requested from Google.
When maps are on, your browser connects to Google to load them. Google receives your IP address and some information about your browser, and it may set cookies or use similar technologies on your device, for example to remember your settings and to protect its services. Google decides what these are and what they are used for, as a separate organisation and not on our behalf. Its cookie policy lists them, and its privacy policy explains what it does with the information.
If you would rather not turn maps on, every address on our website is written out in full, and each practice has an “Open in Google Maps” link, which takes you to Google’s own website.
Changing your mind
Use “Cookie settings” at the bottom of any page to see your choice and change it. Turning maps off stops them loading from then on.
Cookies Google has already set stay in your browser until you delete them, which you can do in your browser’s settings. Most browsers also let you block cookies from other websites altogether. If you block Google’s, a map may not load, but nothing else on our website will change.
Changes to this policy
If we ever add something else that sets a cookie, we will update this page first, and ask for your agreement before anything that isn’t strictly necessary is set.
